Community Partnerships

At Camp Yarramundi we are always looking for opportunities to positively engage with people within the community. We do this by offering a range of exclusive Community Engagement Programs.

We partner with other community organisations and groups as well seek funding from grants, corporate sponsorships and philanthropic donation. This support provides opportunities for life changing experiences for people within our community who would not ordinarily have the chance to participate.

Our Community Engagement Programs are our most bespoke programs in terms of design and specificity of the learning outcomes we are striving to achieve.

Some examples of the Programs we currently operate are below
  • Camp Jabiru for young people with Autism, Asperger's Syndrome and Down syndrome.
  • Legacy Family Resilience Programs for families of incapacitated and deceased Defence Force veterans.

NDIS Funded Mental Health Program

The Y NSW has been working in collaboration with Recovery Camp since 2013 delivering impactful and life-changing outdoor education programs for people living with mental illness while also educating the next generation of nurses and allied health professionals in mental health care. The unique collaboration – which has been backed by over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles - combines the expertise of mental health professionals and academics with Y NSW’s outdoor education and camping expertise. So far, over 500 people with lived experience and more than 1000 health students have benefitted from the camps which take place five times per year and can be funded through NDIS.
